The Challenge.
To produce a month long sales promotion for the Samsung Galaxy S5 through the Vodafone retail channel- both online and in-store.
The aim of the campaign was to increase sales uplift on the Samsung Galaxy S5 through Vodafone. This was to combat the sales drop off that is usually experienced by older devices around a new flagship launch.
As part of the campaign, Samsung and Vodafone were headline sponsors of the Olly Murs tour. We looked for ways of extending the sponsorship by activation in-store and at the shows.

We chose Olly Murs as he had wide appeal across a varied demographic and has a large social following that we used to extend the reach of the campaign. We took advantage of many media channels; using Digital, Press & Social to ensure that the campaign messaging was sustained for the whole promotional period.
Customers who purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5 from Vodafone received their device in bespoke packaging that promoted the offer and displayed step by step entry instructions.
A bespoke microsite was created to capture consumer entry data.
To generate some great content we had the opportunity to film 3 exclusive interviews with Olly at Paramount Studios in LA – the videos were shared through Samsung, Vodafone & Olly’s social media channels throughout the promotional period.
The campaign had presence in print press with full page adverts in papers including The Sun, Daily Mirror, Metro as well as weekly magazines such as Heat, Closer, OK, Now & Reveal.
All of the above was accompanied by in store POS, call centre activities, web banners on both brand websites and various competitions on social media channels.
To tie the campaign up nicely, we managed to secure Olly for an exclusive private gig at the Hospital Club in London on the 8th May – stay tuned!

Social media campaigns by Samsung & Vodafone, and social posts on Olly’s personal Facebook, Twitter & YouTube pages resulted in well over 60M+ impressions. 350 pairs of tickets were given away to over 20 UK shows – including 5 sets of meet and greets with the man himself – Olly Murs!
