 The brief

Undercurrent have been employed by Starbucks since 2007 to organise their New Store Community Projects, through which the new Starbucks stores connect with their local community.

We are committed to arranging, co-ordinating and managing local community projects that encourage long-running communications with the local community, supporting local charities and organising fund and awareness-raising events.

Our response

Using our experience of working in C.S.R we have helped the new store managers to run projects as diverse as wildlife conservation, helping to landscape gardens at day centres, creating 'sensory gardens', painting and decorating rooms, and taking disadvantaged children and elderly people on trips such as days out to wildlife areas or theme parks.

Outcome

The projects we have been involved with have ensured that the new Starbucks stores have maintained long-running positive relationships with the community around them.

The charities have also benefited greatly from the help they have received - not only with funding, but through the actions of the partners at the stores and the wider contact with other sections of the community that they may not have reached before.
