 The brief

Use England's final World Cup 2010 group game as a tool to raise Samsung's profile within the CPW head office and contact centre - screen the game and throw a bit of a party afterwards.

Our response

We took over the CPW head office outside terrace and erected a 5m x 3m outdoor LED screen, to create a self contained, mobile (and very large) broadcast screen on which to show the game.

We printed branded collateral to decorate the terrace and screen frame with, working closely with the Samsung marketing department to create bespoke elements for the occasion. These included large format vinyl to cover pillars and 6ft plant pots, Samsung branded England flags, an HTML email invitation, A3 posters and leaflets.

We created holding images for the screen linked to Samsungs latest product launch, and showed their latest mobile phone ad before and after the game, as well as at half time.

We set up seating for 260 people, and had almost the same number standing.

We served soft drinks and snacks during the game, then once the match finished we had a delicious hog roast and rotisserie chicken BBQ, with a DJ and plenty of drinks, so everyone was able to celebrate England's victory in style!

Outcome

Another great event for Carphone Warehouse and Samsung. The staff at the head office had a great time, most of them taking pictures of the set up and emailing them to friends to ensure 'my office is better than your office' bragging rights for a long time to come.

And most importantly for Samsung, everyone was well aware that they were behind the event, and their popularity at CPW hit an all time high. Mission accomplished.
