 The brief

Undercurrent were approached by Best Buy Europe to organise and manage a two day conference with a focus on creating and encouraging growth in the mobile phone retail market.

It was our aim to provide a platform that would reach out to key international mobile phone retailers and bring them together to nurture new relationships and ideas through shared experience and understanding.

Our response

We created a slick, minimalistic set in a conference theatre of a five star hotel that established significant branding and provided a central backdrop for the forum.

We also provided all the necessary AV equipment and support to ensure that all the presentations performed over the two days were glossy, professional, and went without a hitch.

We handled the logistics of getting extremely senior executive delegates from all over the world to the Sofitel Heathrow, where we provided accommodation as well as a branded networking dinner. Retailers from 35 separate contries were represented.

The event itself was all about sharing information, and in response to this we suggested producing a succinct but detailed event handbook, with articles from the key event contributors and speakers, previous learnings and predictions for the future. We collated this document, designed and edited it, and produced copies for all delegates as an event bible which they could use during the conference and take home with them afterwards for further reference.

To break up the event and ensure the delegates were kept fresh and interested, we organised group outings to Best Buy stores, with activities planned for the bus journeys and catering provided.

Outcome

The event went extremely smoothly, with all delegates in the right places at the right times. The set looked great, the AV ran without error, and the handbook, branding and event literature were all really well received.

Most importantly, the quality of the event ensured that it will now become a regular feature in the industry calendar, and the client was extremely happy.
